fails to create the unit tests from the message log

I am following the steps in lab 6 using a Service-side message log.

In step 4, "Start the service again and run one of the sample clients a couple of times to generate a message log, then stop the service again. There should be a service_side.log file in the ConsoleHost directory. "

I did see the service_side.svclog at my ...\Lab\2008\SampleService\ConsoleHost folder. However when I used svcTraceViewer.exe to open it, it shows some trace errors.

Does anyone know how to solve this?

Thanks

I'm seeing the exact issue with the trace file.   I can get around it by manually removing the last line in the trace file that starts with "<E2ETraceEvent xmlns=".

My guess is that the trace is not being fully flushed for some reason. Have you made sure that auto flushing is enabled? Is the service being allowed to exit cleanly or is being killed abruptly? Check here for setting the auto flush option: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms732009.aspx

Rob:  Your guess is right.  I enabled the auto flush and trace file is now generated correctly.  Thanks for your help!
